DESCRIPTION:Listen Up! UNCG Speech and Hearing Center is hosting a FREE hearing screening event on Monday\, October 28\, 2024 (8:30 am – 5:00 pm) in honor of Audiology Awareness Month. This campus-wide screening is open to all faculty\, staff\, and students at UNC Greensboro as well as community members. The screening is expected to take 15 minutes and will be conducted by graduate students and faculty in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). \n\n\n\nTo sign up for a screening time\, please scan the QR code below or click this link. Walk-ins also are welcome\, but may require wait ti \n\n\n\nme. The screening will be at the UNCG Speech and Hearing Center located on the third floor of the Ferguson Building. Please wait in the lobby and enjoy some light refreshments. Limited parking is available. SUMMARY:Learn & Earn: 2023 Audiology Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The North Carolina Speech Hearing and Language Association (NCSHLA) announces the return of the Audiology Symposium hosted by Appalachian State University.  This hybrid event will offer sessions both virtually and in person in Boone\, North Carolina. Participants can earn up to 6 PDH/0.6 ASHA CEUs during the one-day symposium.  Vice President of Audiology at NCSHLA and Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at UNC Greensboro\, Dr. Amy Myers\, was instrumental in helping to recruit speakers for the event.   She writes\, “I am very proud of the line up\,” which includes presentations on timely and important topics including: \n\n\n\n\nEthics\n\n\n\nCognitive Decline\, Hearing Loss\, & Hearing Aids\n\n\n\nMedicare & Medicaid Billing Updates\n\n\n\nAfter the Referral-Beginnings for Parents.\n\n\n\n\nPresenters include professionals from across the state as well as billing and insurance expert\, Dr. Deb Abel.  See the 2023 Audiology Symposium Agenda for a detailed description of presentations including one by Dr. Sarah Black\, former AuD extern at UNCG Speech and Hearing Center.
