BRIEF BIO

Onyinyechi Ukaegbe (Onyi) is a third-year PhD student in Audiology. She is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and prior to joining the PhD program she practiced as an Otorhinolaryngologist in the University of Nigeria and its affiliated Teaching Hospital. Her interest in hearing impairment and Tinnitus lead her to obtain an MSc in Audiology for ENT Practice from the University of London. Onyi is interested in Hearing Impairment, Tinnitus, Evoked Potentials and Otoneurology. She is currently involved in research on the factors that influence the perception of tinnitus in silence and Evoked Potentials under the supervision of Dr. Denise Tucker. She loves working with patients and teaching. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, running and travelling. She hopes to play a role in improving the aural rehabilitation available to the hearing impaired in Nigeria especially for children and those who cannot currently afford Hearing Aids.
