BRIEF BIO
Karen Nix is a doctoral student and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. She has a bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. She worked for 16 years with children ages birth to 18. She has practiced in New Mexico, Arkansas, and North Carolina in a variety of educational and community settings. Her research interests include child language and literacy, child poverty and trauma, and alternative clinical experiences using simulated case studies. When not working, she loves to read, listen to podcasts, and travel with her family.
