The School of Health and Human Sciences is graduating its first cohort of its online Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology. Melanie Castellon-Lazo, of Charlotte, N.C., is excited to be completing her degree in a field she loves.
“The reason I chose the UNCG online master’s program is because, being a UNCG alumni, I was very fond of the school, not only for the courses but also the instructors that helped me and guided my way of obtaining my bachelor’s in communication and science disorders. UNCG furthered my interest and love for speech and language pathology, as the courses they offered were incredibly valuable and insightful.
The online program was designed to care for and prepare their students to become successful in every aspect of their life, and I’m extremely grateful to have been part of this talented and inspiring cohort. I loved that I was able to stay at home with family and complete clinical externships in my hometown. My plans are now to become a Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist in Charlotte Mecklenburg School District.”
