Clinical Experiences

All students will have sufficient clinical experiences to meet the requirements for ASHA certification and NC Board of Examiners’ licensure. During your first year, all of your clinical experiences will be on the UNC Greensboro campus or at other sites in the Greensboro area. Some of the potential sites include

• UNC Greensboro Speech and Hearing Center
• Phoenix Academy
• Moss Street Partnership School
• Circle C Equestrian Center
• Horsepower Therapeutic Learning Center
• Guilford County Assessment Team

During your second year, you will be involved in externships at a wide variety of facilities to provide experiences across the lifespan. These include:

• Hospitals – inpatient, outpatient and acute care
• Skilled nursing facilities
• Rehabilitation centers
• Public schools
• Special needs schools
• Private practices
• Early Intervention programs
