This advising/registration section is specifically for students applying for fall admission to CSD’s Undergraduate or Prerequisite Programs, regarding fall registration.

Advising:

  • Reach out to HHS Advising or your Primary Advisor for advising and your Advising Code/Pin well ahead of your registration window (find this in UNCGenie).
  • Admitted students will be assigned a CSD advisor in August.

Registration:

Summer Registration (opens February 1st for continuing ): All students may take CSD 334 Intro to Audiology in the Summer

Fall Registration (“JR” year on the Plan of Study for the SLP or Audiology Track):

Seats in CSD’s required 300+ level courses are reserved for Admitted Students. Keep this in mind when experiencing delays that affect registration (i.e.: registration errors, etc.).

Applicants must submit CSD’s Secondary Application for initial review and for approval to register for fall courses (the Cumulative GPA will be calculated if more than one college was attended).

  • Applicants with a Cumulative GPA ≥2.7 will be approved to register during their registration window (and before official admission to the CSD Program).
  • Applicants with a Cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 2.69 should register for an alternate fall schedule (while seats are still widely available in other courses), in the event that they are not admitted this fall.
  • You will get an email indicating your application status and registration approval once your application has been reviewed (cumulative GPA calculated and overrides processed).

Note: Early registration does NOT waive the application/admission requirements. Applicants must complete all application requirements and be admitted to the CSD Program to remain enrolled in CSD courses.

  • All admitted students will receive fall registration information after submitting their Intent to Enroll in the CSD Program; use this information to register or to confirm that your schedule is correct.

ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS ARE DUE BY 11:59 PM ON MAY 15th for an application to be considered complete, and to be reviewed for fall admission.

Applicants should submit their application and transcripts as early as possible to allow time for initial and final review of the application before the deadline.

  • ALL continuing UNCG and transfer students seeking a first bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology
  • All students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in a field other than Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) and are interested in changing career directions through our Second Degree/Prerequisite program

All application materials must be received by 11:59pm on May 15th

  • Credit Hours: 55+ credit hours must be completed by the end of the spring semester (students completing 55 credit hours during the summer will be considered by the admission committee on an individual basis)
  • GPA: A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • OFFICIAL transcripts must be submitted from all colleges/universities where college credits were earned (even if no degree was earned)
  • Current UNCG students must submit two copies of their UNCG transcript (unofficial)

Current UNCG students are NOT required to resubmit official transcripts from schools they previously attended, however must upload a copy of their UNCG transcript twice during the application process:

How to Print/Save a Copy of your UNCG (unofficial) Transcript:

  • Log in to UNCGenie
  • Confirm that the Student Records tab is selected
  • Select Student Profile
  • Select Additional Links, then Academic Transcript
  • Choose the Transcript Level (All) and Transcript Type (Advising Transcript)
  • Click on the printer icon, select “Save as a PDF” as the Destination, then “Save
  • Rename the file (i.e.: UNCG.Transcript.Smith.Sue), and save it to your computer (note the location where it is saved)
  • FINAL STEPS: Log into your UNCG Application Portal
  • UPLOAD the copy of your transcript under the materials tab

New/Transfer/Prerequisite students must send an OFFICIAL transcript directly from their college/university to the UNCG Office of Admissions (through your college website, the National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, etc.) by the May 15th deadline.

Exception*: Students who are graduating this spring or summer, or are enrolled in summer courses at another university:

  • Submit an unofficial copy of your transcript (showing your spring grades) by May 15th
  • Email csd@uncg.edu to let us know when to expect your final/official transcript.
  • Not graduating? Submit an OFFICIAL transcript as soon as your summer grades have posted.
  • Graduating this spring or summer semester? Wait to submit an OFFICIAL transcript until your degree has been applied to your transcript.

*If your final spring grades will not be available by May 15th: Email ammyers2@uncg.edu and csd@uncg.edu prior to the May 15th deadline to let us know when to expect your Official transcript; send your OFFICIAL transcript to UNCG as soon as it is available.

How to Download a Copy of your Transcript (unofficial):

  • Locate your transcript (showing your final spring grades) in your student account at your CURRENT college/university. This may be listed as an academic, advising, transfer, or unofficial transcript.
  • Download, Print, or Control+P to “print” the page.
  • Select “Save as a PDF” as the Destination (instead of a printer), then “Save”.
  • Rename the file (i.e.: Unofficial.Transcript.Smith.Sue), and save it to your computer (note the location where it is saved)
  • FINAL STEPS: Log into your UNCG Application Portal.
  • UPLOAD the copy of your transcript under the materials tab

  • Clinical hours cannot be completed at UNCG.

Go to your former school’s website, and search “request transcript”.

Follow the instructions for an electronic transcript, there are usually links to the transcript clearinghouse used by your school (this may be the National Student Clearinghouse, or Parchment; there may be others).

As instructed, type in/select the school where the transcript is coming “from”, and input all of your personal info.

Once you are asked where the transcript needs to be sent, select “University or college” in the menu.

Then, select UNCG from the list of schools in the drop-down menu (University of North Carolina Greensboro may be spelled out, or it may say UNC Greensboro).

If you selected UNCG in the previous step, you will NOT have to enter an address or email address for the “recipient”, it will be populated automatically.
