Admission Requirements

ALL students in the Speech Pathology and Audiology (SPAU) major must complete a secondary application and be accepted into the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Program prior to beginning upper-level (300-400 level) CSD courses.

**Applications are due by May 15th for the upcoming fall admission cycle**

UNCG’s undergraduate/pre-professional program in Speech Pathology and Audiology (SPAU) is available to students:

  • Completing a first undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) in preparation for graduate programs in Speech Language Pathology (SLP), or Audiology (Au.D.).
  • Changing career directions by completing prerequisite courses through the “Second Degree” program before entering a graduate level program in Speech Language Pathology.

All applicants are required to:

  • Complete CSD’s secondary application by May 15th
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5
  • Complete and/or transfer at least 55 credit hours
  • Submit official transcripts* for ALL college credit hours earned at other colleges/universities (including college credits earned in high school) to the UNCG Office of Admissions.
  • Submit official transcripts showing final spring grades by the May 15th deadline.

Upload your unofficial transcript to your application to show all courses completed/currently in progress at UNCG.

Submit an updated copy of your unofficial transcript showing final spring grades by May 15th.

*Continuing UNCG students are NOT required to resubmit official transcripts that were previously submitted to the UNCG Office of Admissions.

Transfer or Second Degree/ Prerequisite Students

Applicants who are new to UNCG must complete CSD’s secondary application through the UNCG Application.

Submit official transcripts to the UNCG Office of Admissions for all college credit hours earned.

**Important Note: CSD’s May 15th deadline is earlier than the UNCG admissions deadline; ALL applications/official transcripts must be submitted by May 15th for an applicant to be considered for admission to the CSD Program.**

Students enrolled in spring courses must submit an official transcript showing final spring grades by the May 15th deadline.

Email Dr. Amy Myers directly if your spring grades will not be published by the May 15th deadline.
